Any fellow designers (or anyone) wondering where the good deals are on optical mouses (mice?), wide screens, laptops and all those other little electronic devices that make our profession worthy? Check out Logic Buy (http://www.LogicBUY.com). They also have video games, GPS systems and just about anything that blips and beeps. The cool feature about this site is that user’s vote on the better deals, so you don’t have to scour the internet looking for a comparison since the less good deals get shuffled back. You might have to dig a bit for software deals, but they’re on there as well.

So I entered a contest and lost, I did however get what amounts to 4th place, so postersforhumans.com contacted me and will be selling the following 20″ x 30″ poster on their site.
The contest was to parody a cliche poster theme, so I combined the often over-used propaganda style, mixed it with a recruitment poster concept and gave it a science fiction twist.
I’m not sure when it will be available for sale. I’ll post it when it’s up for purchase.

I started these over a year and a half ago, and have averaged about two hours of work on them per month since (or so). They’re a personal project with the intent to one day sell the idea, or pursue my already-failed attempt at making my own beer.
These are, at this point, vector-based illustrations created from reference photos of past world leaders. In most cases the hands holding the beer mugs are from reference photos I took of a model. Everything is done in black and white, and then composed to fit together.
There is a deep philosophical idea behind prominent world leaders enjoying a drink together, but satire and humor is the driving force behind these. The newest addition is Joan of Arc who is still unfinished. I have a Nelson Mandella in the works as well. Eventually I will post the final labels as printed on bottles, six pack cases and print ads.
